Terms and Conditions
Dalkeith Road School of Music (DRSoM) offers music tuition to the client (you) upon the following terms and conditions.
1. Enrolment
1.1. The minimum enrolment at Dalkeith Road is one term (according to Western Australia public school term dates, lessons do not run on recognised public holidays and will be excluded from the term invoice).
1.2. Enrolment is $48.00 per lesson per half hour session for an individual. Late arrivals will not extend the lesson time beyond the enrolled time slot.
1.3. All students are granted one half hour trial lesson at a price of $48 before committing to regular lessons. Payment is required in advance to secure the date and time of the one-off lesson. The lesson will not commence until payment is made.
1.4. Payment for the term will need to be made before regular lessons begin. You will not be permitted to begin lessons for the term without making this payment.
1.5. Enrolment is continuous for the following terms. It is your responsibility to give a minimum of one week’s notice to the Administrator at DRSoM if you do not intend to continue lessons in the following term. Failing to do this by the census date will result in a penalty of the equivalent of the first two weeks of tuition.
1.6. We do not provide fortnightly or monthly lessons.
1.7. The casual rate for a “one-off” lesson is $50.00 per 30 minutes for an individual (excluding trial lessons which are $48 per half hour lesson as above). Payment is required in advance to secure the date and time of the one-off lesson. The casual lesson does not require enrolment for the term.
2. Fees
2.1. The term fee should be paid by the due date stated in your invoice.
2.2. This payment will secure a set day and time for each week of the term that you are enrolling in.
2.3. If full payment is not received by the due date, your booking will be cancelled, and your lesson time will become available to the next student on the waiting list.
3. Cancellations, Refunds and Credits
3.1. Term payment reserves a teacher and a room for a specific time each week of the term, therefore, after the commencement of the term, no refund will be given in the event of cancellation, withdrawal, or non-attendance unless under special circumstances (see 3.5 below).
3.2. Credit lessons will not be given for any missed lesson.
3.3. Credit lesson will not be given to students who take holidays within the school terms.
3.4. A courtesy call to let the school know when a student is not able to attend a lesson is always appreciated, however, notice of non-attendance will not result in a credit.
3.5. The sighting of a medical certificate that covers the missed lesson time/day is the only condition upon which DRSoM will offer a make-up lesson or a lesson credit. A refund will be granted if these two options are impossible.
3.6. In the event of a lesson cancellation by the teacher, a suitable substitute teacher will be provided. Alternatively, a credit will be issued for a lesson in the following term or by arrangement with the teacher.
3.7. In the event that a teacher must cancel a lesson you will be notified by a phone call or a text message. Please ensure that DRSoM has your current contact details.
